This morning, the Director of Joe Girardi, general manager Brian
Cashman and assistant general manager Jean Afterman between
representatives of the Yankees to support youth baseball and
softball clinic in honor of Jackie Robinson Day. Here are some more
details from the league.
Will be joined by representatives of Major League Baseball New York
Yankees and Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington to celebrate the
annual Jackie Robinson Day 8 support youth baseball and softball
clinics for players who participate in the bounce Newark baseball
program in the inner cities (RBI). MLB annually recognizes April 15
as Jackie Robinson Day on the anniversary of the Baseball Hall of
Famer late. Robinson played the first Major League at Ebbets Field
on April 15, 1947 as a first baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Will take part about 250 children, aged 5-18, the program of the
Reserve Bank of Newark to participate in some stations that baseball
and softball basic skills. The clinic will be headed by Cal Ripken,
founder of the father. Will be donated equipment to the clinic by
the pitch in the game of baseball. RBI youth program, Major League
Baseball initiative to create opportunities for baseball games and
softball, to encourage academic success, and the value of teamwork
and other important lessons of life for disadvantaged youth between
the ages of 5-18 years of urban communities. Reserve Bank supports
more than 200,000 young people in more than 300 programs in more
than 200 cities around the world. .......................
