Has Reagan Smith Darlington, SC, for nearly three years after the rule prevented him NASCAR's first NASCAR Sprint Cup victory, winning the elusive.

To stay away from old tires, which Smith held off Carl Edwards for the South Saturday night on Showtime channel 500 Darlington to win in a dramatic checkered flag green and white finish.

Smith crossed the finish line 0.196 seconds ahead of Edwards II.

"It's 500 South We're not supposed to win this thing," Smith wirelessly cautious side after the race.
