Kicking off the night: Exotic Flower Naima Adedapo, who was born in 1984 and picked “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” by Tina Turner. The arrangement seemed very modern, and the performance felt like something an established artist (with a limited stage budget, anyway) might do, but once again she struggled a bit with the vocals. We blame the difficulties on how much effort it must have taken to perform in her sky-high shoes, because wow. The judges were split on the performance; Jennifer and Randy both mentioned her pitch issues, but Steven, who spoke first, said “You’ve got a sorcerer’s grasp for melody, girl.”
